Marion Anderson Jones

Marion Anderson Jones, age 72, of Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville.

Born September 28, 1948, in Harrison County, he was a son of the late Joseph Anderson Jones and Anna Price Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harlan Jones, and an infant sister, JoAnn Jones.

Marion is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Shirley Howard Jones, whom he married March 18, 1967; one son, James “Jimmy” Jones and wife Kim, and one daughter, Sherry Lee Miller and husband Daryl, all of Flemingsburg; four grandsons, Levi (Kasha) Jones and Cody (Emma) Jones; Harrison (Carina) Miller and Dakota (Celena) Miller; two great grandsons, Conner Jones and Oliver Jones; and two great granddaughters, Violet Miller and Jocelyn Jones.

Other survivors include three brothers, Joe Ray Price, Lewis “Moose” Jones, and Woodson “T” Jones and special sister-in-law, Valas Jones; three sisters, Elaine Gray, Marlin Mitchell, and Betty Jones, as well as nieces and nephews, extended family and friends

Marion owned and operated Bluebank Diesel in Flemingsburg for 47 years.  He loved camping and fishing in his younger years and enjoyed spending time with family, especially taking his four grandsons on day trips.  He loved to ride motorcycles, cook, and have community cookouts.  He thoroughly enjoyed his involvement with the Shriners.  He was a member of Fleming Lodge 112 F&AM, El Hasa Temple, Oleika Temple, Morehead Shrine Club, and Tri County Shrine Club. 

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Tony Brewer officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Levi Jones, Cody Jones, Harrison Miller, Dakota Miller, Richard Hardymon, Chris Maddox.  Honorary Pallbearers: Daryl Miller, Robbie Miller, David Tackett, Duke Flora, Perky Masters.

Visitation will be at Hutton Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021, with Masonic Rites to be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday by Fleming Lodge 112 F&AM.
