Lola Howard Back, age 84, of Wellington, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Edgewood Estates Nursing Home in Frenchburg.
Born June 28, 1935, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Howard and Daisy Crisp Howard Dunn. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Morris, and two brothers, Stanley and Emory Howard.
Mrs. Back is survived by nine children: Robert Morris, Marie Human (Dennis), and Rodney Morris, all of Wellington, Dreama Inman (Tom) of Morehead, Clark Morris (Helen) of Middletown, Ohio, Frances Wagers (Earl) of Salt Lick, Bruce Morris (Rachel) of Middletown, Ohio, Lisa Back (Rick) of Frenchburg, and Paul Back of Jeffersonville; 25 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
Other survivors include two sisters, Ruby Morris of Hillsboro and Sue Howard of Tennessee; two brothers, Leslie Dunn and Tim Dunn, both of Campton; extended family; and many friends.
Lola loved caring for her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with everyone, especially the grandchildren, and enjoyed cooking and having family dinners and get-togethers. She also enjoyed reading, making crafts, watching U.K. basketball, and traveling and having fun with Greta Blankenship, Maxie O’berg, Jean Branham, and Hazel Lawson. She loved the Lord and singing hymns was a favorite pastime. She will be sadly missed by her devoted family and friends.
Due to COVID-19 requirements set forth by Governor Andy Beshear, a private service for family will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with her son-in-law, Rick Back, officiating. Private burial will follow at New Alfrey Cemetery.
