Lloyd Frank Cornett

Lloyd Frank Cornett, age 86, of Swim Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his residence.

Born November 22, 1934, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Frank and Eunice Irene Trent Cornett.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ina Alletha McDaniel Cornett in 2010; one daughter, Cynthia Johnson in 1994; three brothers, James Attie Cornett, Trent Cornett, and Charles Cornett; and three sisters, Oneida Caudill, Violet Walker, and Arlene Swanson.

He was survived by three children, Danny Cornett and Penny, Brenda Hamm, Theresa Bradley and Doug, all of Morehead; seven grandchildren, Shane Hamm, Amber Hamm Taulbee, Joshua Johnson, Jeremy Cornett, Jordan Cornett, Samantha Bradley, and Emily Bradley; and 13 great grandchildren.

Other survivors include one brother, Virgil Cornett of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Carolyn Goodpaster of Knoxville, Tennessee; his companion, Jewell Knipp of Morehead; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Lloyd lived most of his life in Rowan County.  During his working years as a welder, he traveled to many states as a member of Boilermakers Local No. 105.  He retired in 1995. 

Lloyd had many interests.  He enjoyed going to Hardee’s every morning to visit with friends, attending auctions, gardening, drying apples and making jerky.  He also loved spending time with his family.  He attended Morehead First Church of the Nazarene when his health permitted.  Lloyd will be greatly missed. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mitch Hedge officiating.  Burial will follow in the Clark Cemetery, Kegley Ridge, Morehead.  Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
