Linda "Fern" (Miller) Goodpaster

Linda “Fern” Miller Goodpaster, age 68, of Morehead, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead following an extended illness.

She was born April 25, 1954, in Menifee County, and was a daughter of the late Lloyd “Trave” and Eddla Mae Ratliff Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Edward Goodpaster on April 26, 2004.

Fern is survived by one son, James “Travis” Goodpaster of Morehead; three sisters, Alva Riley (Carl) and Patsy Ann Carter, all of Morehead, and Rosemary Hamilton (Timothy) of Clearfield; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Solid Rock Apostolic Church in Morehead and loved helping in numerous ways at her church. Fern adored her family, loved caring for all children and her dog Jill.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by everyone that knew her. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Solid Rock Apostolic Church, 7500 US 60 West, Morehead, Kentucky 40351 with Pastor Daniel Carter and Josh Layne officiating.  Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Hamilton, Jacob Smith, Tim Fultz, Jacob Flanigan, Gabe Oakley, and Jonathan Mayo.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Dunn, Joshua Layne, Sherman Miller, Gary Miller, and Scottie Sargent.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351 and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Solid Rock Apostolic Church.
