Lillian Hazel Kiser

July 26, 1936 ~ April 12, 2022 (age 85)


Lillian Hazel Kiser, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Carter County Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Grayson after an extended illness.


Born July 26, 1936, in Morehead, she was a daughter of the late Hiram Ashbrook Kiser and Fannie Jane Roberts Kiser.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jeff Kiser, Chester Kiser, Wayne Kiser, and Charles Edd Kiser, and four sisters, Goldie Keeys, Pauline Mellott, Ruby Fannin, and Betty Johnson Hall.


Lil is survived by two sisters, Olive Whetsel of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Lou Selby of Flemingsburg, who along with her son Tony Selby (Ginger) of Flemingsburg (a very special nephew) ensured that her every need was met. Also surviving, her niece Natalie Caudill (Ron) of Mt. Sterling; her caregivers, Sherry Cox, Marlin Mitchell, Kay Hansel, and her sister-in-law, Ruth Kiser, who also assisted with her care; and several other nieces and nephews.


In 1988, after more than 25 years of service, Lil retired from GTE of Morehead. A woman of faith, she was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Christian Church where she served as a Youth Leader and was a faithful server for all church dinners.  She assisted her sisters with the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Committee, where she helped collect funds for many years to ensure the beautification of the cemetery where her family is buried.  Lil enjoyed reading and traveling across the United States with her sisters.


Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery (7855 Bullfork Road, Morehead, KY 40351) with Pastor Jack Hinton and Pastor Jim DeAtley officiating.


Pallbearers will be Tony Selby, Natalie and Ron Caudill, Quentin Fannin, Richard Mellott, and Gene Hall.


Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Fund, c/o Beverly Williams, 7505 Bullfork Road, Morehead, KY 40351.


Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead, Kentucky.
