Lesia Lynn (Howard) Roseberry

Lesia Lynn Howard Roseberry, age 53, of Shady Pines, Elkfork, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Hazard Regional Medical Center in Hazard, Kentucky.

She was born June 27, 1969, in West Liberty, Kentucky a daughter of Ruth Thornsberry Howard Easterling of Blairs Mill, Kentucky, and the late Windell Howard, Jr.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Stanley Easterling; her first husband, Mark A. Barnett; and her brother, Tracy Allen Howard.

In addition to her mother, Lesia is survived by her husband, Matthew F. Roseberry of Elkfork, Kentucky; three sons and one daughter, Jonathan Barnett and wife Jaymie Moore, Windell Tyler Barnett and wife Whitney, Dwight Barnett and wife Courtney and Tiffany Denae’ McGlone and husband Jeremiah, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one stepson, Caden Roseberry of Elkfork, Kentucky; and 11 grandchildren, Eli, Ava, Noah, Alayna, Wyatt, Aubrey, Kash, Ellianna, Attikas, Jayden, and Annalee.

Other survivors include one brother, Troy Wayne Howard of Blairs Mill, Kentucky, and one sister, Teresa Jennings of Clearfield, Kentucky, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Through the years, Lesia enjoyed her work at Guardian, Rowan County Clerk’s office, Farm Bureau, and as a correctional officer at Little Sandy Correctional Complex.  She was an extremely talented artist who enjoyed sharing her skill with family and friends—painting “themed walls” for her grandchildren, sketching portraits or action scenes for family, or creating various crafts brought her much joy.  Lesia will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, me-maw, sister, aunt, and friend.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Brother Jason Ison and Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating.   Burial will follow in the Thornsberry Cemetery on Hwy 711 in Morgan County.

Pallbearers will be Caden Roseberry, Jesse Jennings, Bradley Howard, Troy Wayne Howard, Elijah Eldridge, and Heath Ward.  Honorary pallbearers will be Gale Thornsberry, Larry Howard, and Lesia’s sons.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
