Leota Quesinberry, age 91, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.
She was born January 9, 1932, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of Asa Richard Quesinberry and Clela Cooper Quesinberry. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar Quesinberry and Earl Quesinberry.
Leota is survived by her sister, Ruth I. Brown of Clearfield; two nieces, Shirley Brown Horseman of Clearfield and Nicki Hunter of LaFontaine, Indiana; a nephew, Jody Quesinberry; a great nephew, Thomas Andrew “Drew” Horseman of Elko, Nevada; a great niece, Bailey Horseman of Nicholasville, as well as extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
In 1966, Leota joined the Morehead State University staff as a keypunch operator and retired in 1999 after 33 years of dedicated service. Her focus was on her work, her home, and primarily her family. She and her sister Ruth were lifelong best friends and brought much joy to each other and the whole family. Leota enjoyed gardening, Elvis, and helping anyone in need. She was a member of Morehead Freewill Baptist Church and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joey Damron officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Tony Wallace, Dwayne Allen Sr., Dwayne E. Allen II, Jody Quesinberry, Kenneth Lewis, Drew Horseman, and John Quesinberry.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
