Leonard Trent, age 81, of Clearfield, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born February 15, 1940, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Sherman Trent and Edith Edna Dillon Trent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Bernice Trent; his companion, Donna Basford; and a step daughter, Donita Kay Jones.
He is survived by three daughters, Kim Trent Beamon and husband Bernie of Morehead, Tonya Trent Potter and husband Mike of Salt Lick, and Lynn Trent Barnett of Mt. Sterling; three step children, Andrea Stegall of Huntington, West Virginia, Paul Basford and wife Sandra and Gary Basford, all of Morehead; six grandchildren, Derrick Courtney, Ashton Beamon, Spencer Potter, Luke Potter, Rionne Barnett, and Zachary Barnett; and eight step grandchildren, Dustin Stegall, Jarrod Stegall, Kane Basford, Tylor Emmons, Tyler Emmons, Matt Jones, Morgan Foster, and Charlie Foster.
Other survivors include one brother, Lee Roy Trent and wife Lucille of Morehead; one sister, Lousie Mynhier Richmond of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Leonard served in the U.S. Army and was a former construction worker. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Crix Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers: Spencer Potter, Luke Potter, Derrick Courtney, Dustin Stegall, Jarrod Stegall, and Ashton Beamon.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
