Laura Jane Kinder Cooper, age 89, of Flemingsburg went home to be with the Lord around 3:30 Friday morning, January 1, 2021. She was born December 31, 1931, in Rowan County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Beatrice Fraley Kinder; brothers, Lloyd Kinder, Harrison Kinder, George Kinder, and Bobby Kinder; sisters, Alta McCleese and Tansy Gulley; husband, Douglas Johnson Cooper; daughter, Beatrice Eva Justice; daughter-in-law, Sarah Rosetta Cooper; and granddaughter, Jana Rena Cooper.
She is survived by five sons, Lawrence Wayne Cooper of Flemingsburg, George Ray Cooper of Flemingsburg, Charles Douglas Cooper of Danville, Forrest Lane Cooper (and his wife Mildred Marie Cooper, who is considered a daughter) of Flemingsburg, and Wiley Dennis Cooper of Flemingsburg, 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She also leaves behind one sister, Louise Kinder Estep of Parker City, Indiana; one brother, Danny Kinder of Morehead; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Laura was a homemaker and a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her family and will be greatly missed. She was a Christian and always enjoyed attending church services.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Charley Hamm providing the eulogy and Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. The service will be livestreamed on Northcutt & Son Facebook page beginning at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery on Stacy Road. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
