Larry David Smallwood, age 58, of Morehead, Kentucky, a resident of Salyersville Nursing and Rehab, passed away December 28, 2025, at Paintsville ARH in Paintsville, Kentucky.
Born January 11, 1967, in Xenia, Ohio, he was the son of the late Larry W. Smallwood and Charolette Howard Sexton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Paul Sexton, and a brother, Geoffrey Douglas Smallwood.
Larry graduated from Morgan County High School and served in the National Guard Reserve. He was a former telecommunications technician, certified cross-country truck driver, gunsmith and weapons exper. He enjoyed wood carving and tinkering with all sorts of things.
Known as the “Gentle Giant,” he was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family including niece Tami Renee Smallwood and her mother Jodi Smallwood; Aunt Yvonne Roseberry and her family; nieces and nephews, Allegra Howard, Sailor Howard and Cordell Howard; several step brothers and sisters, as well as other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
He will be laid to rest with his mother at the Sexton Cemetery on Ditney Ridge.
