Krista Cox Obituary

Krista Morgan Clark Cox, age 42, of Maxey Flat Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, after a brief illness.

She was born July 17, 1980, in Lexington, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Ronnie Clark and Margaret Talley Clark Caudill. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, C. Dale Caudill; paternal grandparents, Dallas and Lidia Clark; and maternal grandparents, Warren and Callie Talley.

Morgan is survived by her husband, Matthew Cox; her son, Taylor David Cox; and her daughter, Kali Morgan Cox. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by one brother, Alan Caudill (Amanda) of Morehead; father and mother-in-law, David and Suzanne Compton Cox of Hillsboro; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was a graduate of Rowan County High School and attended Morehead State University. Morgan was currently employed by the Morehead Housing Authority. Previously she had been a caregiver and was known well for the great care and love she gave to those she cared for. She gave of herself 100% to her employers. Morgan loved her job at Morehead Housing Authority and all of the people she worked with.

Most of all, she loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with all of them. Morgan loved summer time, sunflowers, traveling, going to the beach, taking cruises, camping, and she absolutely adored her dog “Lady Bird”. She was very creative and was a great decorator, especially at Christmas time and Halloween.

Morgan was a free spirit and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed by all.

At Morgan’s request, no services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
