Kimberly Dawn (Schmidt) Richardson

Kimberly Dawn Schmidt Richardson, age 60, of Raintree Drive, Richmond, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022.

Born July 27, 1961, in Morehead, she is the daughter of Linda Karen “Penny” Jones Garner of Richmond and the late Gerald Garner. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by an aunt, Tressa Stamper.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Ashley Durham (Jesse Landrum) of Wellington, Lindsay Morgan (Sean) of London, and Kristen James (Johnny) of Richmond; four grandchildren, Sawyer Morgan, Hudson Morgan, Mason James, and Ayden James, and expecting another grandson in September; and the father of her children, J. D. Richardson of Richmond.

Other survivors include one brother, John Moseley (Pam) of Shelbyville; two sisters, Shannon Garner and Jamie Garner, both of Richmond; maternal grandmother, Maxine Jones Baggett of Morehead; and several nieces and nephews.

She attended Eastern Kentucky University and studied business administration and fashion design and was a member of Chi Omega sorority. Kim was a homemaker and a former visual manager for JC Penney in Richmond. She was a member of White Oak Pond Christian Church in Richmond.

Kimberly enjoyed sewing, especially her children’s Halloween costumes when they were young, shopping, decorating for holidays, flower gardening, watching Fox News, and enjoying a cold Diet Pepsi. Kimberly loved her children and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

At her request, all services will be private.
