Kenneth Adrian “Kenny” Wilson, 74, passed away on October 19, 2025, at the home in Morehead, Kentucky., that he proudly built for himself and his family.
Born April 27, 1951, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Oliver and Leona Williams Wilson. Kenny was raised on the family farm on Lower Oak Grove Road in Rowan County alongside his siblings: Ronnie Jack Brooks (Leila) of Morehead, Ina Marie of Sandy Hook, and the late Linda Ivorene (wife of Elden Glenn Kidd of Lugoff, South Carolina), and the late Vada Louise (wife of the late Leroy Caudill).
On March 24, 1975, Kenny married the love of his life, Ruth Ernestine Wilson. Together, they raised three children: Kenneth Lee of Morehead, Mahala “Haley” Susan (Adam Presley) of Frankfort, and Adam Raymond (Alexis Wilson) of Ashland. He was a proud Papaw to five grandchildren — Caleb Lee Presley, Makenna Lee Wilson, Kaylynn Paige Wilson, Hadley Louise Wilson, and Mae Bellamy Wilson.
Kenny was a simple, hard-working man who took pride in a job well done. He spent many years driving a delivery truck for RC Cola, Coca-Cola and Southern Belle before going to work at Morehead State University, from which he retired. He enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, sitting on his porch swing, and spending time with his family. Known for his impeccable memory, he was the keeper of family lore and a gifted storyteller, gifts he honed as a a boy, listening to his elders spin tales while stripping a fall crop of burley tobacco. Kenny also loved a good practical joke, reading westerns, playing his bluegrass records, and watching episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. His pockets were never empty and he always carried his pocket knife.
