Katrina E. “Renee” Cassidy, age 91, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026,at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
She was born on February 10, 1934, in Morehead, Kentucky, to the late Troy and Ella (Cooper) Hyatt. Renee attended Little Brushy School in Morehead and, due to her exceptional intelligence, skipped two grades before graduating from a Christian college in Florida.
Renee was blessed with children from her first marriage to Dexter Stevens. Following his passing, she later married Harry Laremore, with whom she operated a lobbying business, Food Distributions, traveling extensively as their work required. After Harry’s passing, Renee devoted her time to caring for others, working as a nanny—where she was lovingly known as “Mimi”—and later providing compassionate care to the elderly, forming many lasting bonds.
She found love again and on December 12, 1992, Renee married Thomas J. Cassidy at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg, Ohio. Together, they blended their families and shared over 33 wonderful years of marriage.
In addition to her loving husband, Thomas, she is survived by her daughter, Kathi Stevens; step-daughters, Kelly (Bryan) O’Connor, Patty (Troy) Burney, Mary Frances Cassidy, and Colleen (Rae) Gregory; grandchildren, Greg, Phillip, Jamie, Renee, Danielle, Shannon, Joseph, Kayden, and Madison; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; her brother, George Hyatt; and her sister, Christine (Andy) Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dexter Stevens and Harry Laremore; her son, Greg Stevens; her daughter, Regina Stevens; and her siblings, Rose Dailey, Bill Hyatt, Emma Hyatt, Mitchell Hyatt, and Loren Hyatt.
Renee deeply loved her family and shared a special bond with her brother, George, and her sister, Christine. She found joy in gardening, writing letters to friends and loved ones, collecting dolls and cherished keepsakes, and visiting religious shrines and historic churches. She read her Bible daily, spoke often of her beloved mother, and gave generously to children’s charities. Renee never passed a baby without stopping to admire it. She had a beautiful singing voice and a gift for storytelling, writing many short stories inspired by both her life and imagination. Her kindness, faith, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Renee will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Christian Church, 7855 Bull Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
