Kathy Ann (Kidd) Hinton

Kathy Ann Kidd Hinton, age 70, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer for the past 16 years. 

Born September 13, 1950, in Morehead, she was the daughter of the late Claude Kidd and Juanita Carter Kidd Crawford.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Kidd, and her husband, Keith Monroe Hinton, who passed away March 1, 2011. 

Kathy is survived by two daughters, Drema Hinton Cole (Kenley Kappes) of Hillsboro and Pepper Hinton Williams (Anthony Williams) of Morehead; one son, Keith Monroe “RoRo” Hinton, Jr. (Larryn Brown Hinton); and seven grandchildren, Autum Tymber Cole, Aspyn Rayn Hinton Williams, Canyon Storm Hinton Williams, Shyann Renee Hinton, Keith Memphis Hinton, Reya Moon Hinton and Raven Monroe Hinton.

Kathy was a graduate of Rowan County High School, a hair dresser, and the perfect grandmother.  She retired as a beautician, a job she thoroughly enjoyed, so she could watch the grandchildren, the “loves of her life.”  Both Kathy and Keith treasured being a part of the grandchildren’s daily lives and looked forward to new adventures with them. Kathy loved animals, especially ducks, and nature in general.  Driving a tractor, bush hogging the field, mowing the lawn or gardening brought her great pleasure. Although she never tired of the outdoors, she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family and friends.  A member of Elliottville Baptist Church, she and Keith also attended the Oak Hill Church of God.  Kathy will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

At Kathy’s request, a private graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the Hinton Cemetery on Open Fork Road in Rowan County with Brother Gary Madden officiating.
