Born June 17, 1966, at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, Karen was the daughter of the late Doug and Fannie Howard Fox. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Fox Robinson.
Karen is survived by her husband, Rodney Landrum; her son, Gabriel Douglas Banks, one brother, Jimmie Fox and wife Tracy of Morehead; two nieces, Tiffany Jill Robinson of Jackson and Trenda Renae Fox of North Hollywood, CA; five great nieces and nephews; an aunt, Alice Donald of Chicago, IL; her life-long closest friend Melissa Jane Prater Norton, and numerous friends.
Karen was a 1984 graduate of Breathitt County High School and attended Lees Junior College in Jackson, KY, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen.
Karen was a such a beautiful person, inside and out. She was a people-person and enjoyed her work as a caregiver. Her passion was helping others and giving to others lovingly and nonjudgmentally. She had so many friends and touched countless lives with her sincerely generous and loving soul. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gospel and classic rock music. Karen was a lifelong churchgoer and most recently attended the Ark of Mercy in Winchester. Karen was taken from us far too soon and for those of you that knew her, she was a blessing that touched everyone around her with love and hope.
A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
