Karan Lenora Mauk Fouch, 78, of Ledgebrook Drive, Morehead, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville.
Born December 26, 1943, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Joe J. and Bernice Stamper Mauk. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Gerald “Jerry” Mauk.
Karan is survived by one son, Kenneth Ray Fouch, Jr., and wife Elizabeth of Morehead; two grandchildren, Emily Williams (Jonathan) and Kira Romans (James); three great grandchildren, Kaylee Williams, Addison Romans, and Jeremy Williams; one brother, Mike Mauk of Alabama; her beloved Chihuahua, Chico; and extended family and friends.
Karan graduated from Breckinridge Training School, Class of 1962. She graduated from Winchester Beauty College in 1963 and worked at Stucky’s Beauty Shop from 1963 to 1965. She also attended Morehead State College and was a Morehead Clinic employee for 24 years, from 1982 to 2006. Karan loved to paint, make pottery, read mysteries, and crochet. In her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with the Rev. Herbie Stallard officiating. Burial will follow in Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey.
