Justin Curtis Obituary

Justin Randal Curtis, 40, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away at home on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Justin was born July 25, 1983, in Mansfield, Ohio, the son of Wanda Mollett and the late Mikle Curtis. Justin's family truly was everything to him. Justin loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping with family and friends; he particularly loved fishing with his dad. Justin also enjoyed movies, music concerts and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He was a talented artist before an auto accident on June 30, 2005, left him a quadriplegic and also tragically claimed the life of his then fiancée, Karey Scott.

Justin had always enjoyed gaming. After his injuries, he learned to use a modified controller so that he could continue to play.

Justin was articulate and well read. He enjoyed long, in depth conversations with family and friends. He was known for his quick wit and unique sense of humor.

Justin was blessed to find love again and married Sarah Keifer in May of 2008. He gained a daughter that was the light of his life. He cherished being a dad above all, and was a devoted father.

While being confined to a wheel chair, Justin continued to "roll" through the rest of his life with positivity and optimism. He had a warrior like resolve to face head on all the challenges that this life had dealt him. He was the epitome of strength and courage. Justin was looking forward with great anticipation to his planned move to Olive Hill, Kentucky to be near to family. It was to be a new beginning.

Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are: his wife, Sarah Curtis; his daughter, Kira Keifer, both of North Richland Hills, Texas; his mother and step dad, Wanda and Jerry Mollett of Olive Hill; step mother, Micaela Curtis, of Mansfield, Ohio; his beloved little sister, Lindsay Curtis of Mansfield, Ohio; two brothers, Ryan Patterson, of Mansfield, Ohio and Cody Mollett of Watauga, Texas; A lifelong friend that Justin loved like a brother, Josh Tucker of Delaware, Ohio; one step-sister, Kasey (Dallas) Webb of Belton, Texas; Maternal Grandparents (whom he revered), Jan and Darlene Evans of Mansfield, Ohio; two Uncles, Randy (Zen) Evans and Clifford Wilson, both of Mansfield, Ohio; two aunts, Joann (Alan) Eckstein of Mansfield, Ohio and Carol Ann (Tom) Clement of Jacksonville, Florida; along with numerous extended family members and many friends that were like family.

In addition to his dad Mikle, Justin was preceded in death by his fiancée, Karey Scott, and his fraternal grandmother, Lula Wilson.
