Julia Creech Stone, age 83, of Wellington, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Hazard.
Born September 13, 1936, in Wolfe County, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Effie Treadway Creech. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Stone, and three sisters, Betty Luke, Macy Taulbee, and May White.
Julia is survived by a son, James Hargis Stone (Carol) of Wellington; a daughter, Loretta Williams; three grandchildren, KaSandra Hensley of Morehead, Sabrina Simpson (Davey) of Wellington, and Waylon Stone of Ohio; two step grandchildren, Carla Brown of Wellington and Richard Cornett of Morehead; two great grandchildren, Conner Caldwell and Alonzo Hensley; and three step grandchildren, Kelly, Lacy and Blake Akers.
Other survivors include two sisters, Janice Holland of Pine Ridge and Willena Pelfrey of Ohio; good friend and caregiver, Brenda Barker of Morehead; and extended family members and friends.
Julia was a homemaker and a life-long farmer. She enjoyed talking with friends on the phone, gardening, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Korea Church of God.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
