Born July 20, 1951, in East Chicago, Indiana, he was the son of the late Denver Glenmore Parker and Janice Diane May Parker.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Joseph Andrew Parker, and one brother, Fred Puckett.

Joe is survived by two sons, Joseph Parker, Jr. and Jonathan Glenn Parker, both of Morehead, and three grandchildren Alexandria, Haley, and Emily.

Other survivors include six brothers, Harvey Puckett and Shirley of Greenwich, Ohio, Hershel David Puckett of Union City, Indiana, Linton Parker, Glen Tee Parker, Sr., Jeffrey Parker, and Cliffton Parker, all of Morehead; two sisters, Deborah Kay Fannin and John and Linda Sue Hamm and Rob, all of Morehead; one sister-in-law, Marion Puckett of Muncie, Indiana, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Joe was a soft-spoken person with the heart of a lion.  He loved his family and spending time with them enjoying dinners and playing music with his brothers and cousins.

He was an auto mechanic who worked over the years for Larry Fannin Chevrolet and Joe and Trent Hamilton at Heiner’s.   A skilled musician, Joe and his singing buddies were well known for their Bluegrass and Gospel music on the radio and in many different places in the region.
