Jeanie Pearl Mathews Brown, age 60, of Airport Hill, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at UK St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born October 31, 1964, in Morehead, she was the daughter of the late William Elmer Mathews and Rosa Snedegar Mathews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Nevaeh Little.
Jeanie is survived by her husband of 39 years, James Edward Brown; daughters, Stella Mathews of Utica, Tisha Brown of Morehead, Courtney Little (Chris) of Flemingsburg, Shania Weaver of Clearfield, and Tasha; sons, James Elmer Brown of Clearfield, Joseph Brown of Louisville, Brandon Weaver of Fleming County and Joshua and William; grandchildren, Shawn Mathews, Braxton Cord, Adam James, Ryan James, Andrew Evans, Bryson Brown, and Heaven Little.
Other survivors include two brothers, Vernon Mathews and Jackie Mathews, both of Morehead; four sisters, Rose Clevenger of Estill County, Lillie Burton of Morehead, Freda Burton of Jackson County, and Crystal Mathews of Winchester.
Jeanie enjoyed watching television, especially Days of Our Lives, growing and tending beautifuly flowers, and most of all, spending time with family and making memories with her grandbabies. She will be remembered and greatly missed.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jason Thurman, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Fraley Cemetery on Kegley Ridge in Rowan County with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
