Janice Shirrell Prichard Hatfield was born May 17, 1940, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, to the late L.C. Prichard and Ruth Ison Prichard. She went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2022, in Spring, Texas, surrounded by her three children.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Sammie Lewis Prichard; one grandson, Benjamin Stephen Hatfield; and fiancé of Deborah Jean Prichard Gullett, Trent Winfree.
She is survived by three children: Lori Denise Hatfield Cooper (Bill) of Spring, Texas; Stephen Prichard Hatfield (Laura) of Fort Myers, Florida; Barbara Ashley Hatfield Howard (Rodney) of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; seven grandchildren: Clayton Prichard Cooper (Samantha); Laura Denise Cooper Graham (Blake); Nicholas Chapman Hatfield (Melina); Emily Janice Howard; Samuel Houston Howard (fiancée Kaitlyn Thacker), Esther Nichole Howard Benitez (Nicolas); and seven great-grandchildren: Calvin, Daniel, Olivia, Haley, Eva, Lane, and Ellie.
Also surviving are three sisters: Betty Karen Snyder, Deborah Jean Gullett, Barbara Ruth Lowe (Tom); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Janice was a devoted Christian and member of the Spring Cypress Presbyterian Church (PCA). She graduated from Sandy Hook High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University, worked at Louisville Gardens in Louisville, Kentucky, for 10 years, and was the Kentucky Farm Bureau Agent in Elliott County, Kentucky for twenty years where she retired. She was a devoted daughter, loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Janice had unconditional love for and genuine interest in people. Janice will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
A service celebrating the life of Janice Hatfield will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky, with Rev. Willie Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Clayton Prichard Cooper, Samuel Houston Howard, Christopher Rex Elam, Jason Scott Elam, Blake Taylor Graham, and Nicolas Benitez.
Visitation will be immediately preceding the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., September 17, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
