Janice Daryl Epperhart Hancock, age 65, of Cleveland, TN, passed away in her home on Memorial Day—Monday, May 30, 2022.
Born November 28, 1956, in Morehead, KY, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Edward “Bill” Epperhart and Betty R. Owens Epperhart. In addition to her parents, an infant brother, Richard Wayne Epperhart, and her sister, Deborah Epperhart Netherly, preceded her in death.
Janice is survived by three sons, Wesley, Benjamin and Zachary (and wife Valerie); two grandchildren, Elijah and Kaya; three sisters, Beverly Williams (and husband Duke), Linda Epperhart, and Kimberly Hunt; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Janice was an incredible soul who was completely devoted to her family no matter the situation. And with three boys, they tested her at every turn! Her main goal was to provide a stable place for them to call home and feel protected. She accomplished that despite any challenges life threw at her, sometimes working multiple jobs to support her family. She loved animals and was always ready to care for a stray or abandoned pet. She enjoyed cooking, birdwatching and family movie nights. She was so selfless, always worrying about everyone else before considering her own needs. During her retirement, her days started with a cup of coffee and ended with a good book or an episode of the latest murder mystery TV series. Janice believed in sharing what she had with those in need and donated to charities to help the less fortunate, veterans, and more. One of her favorite traditions was collecting donations for the upkeep of the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with her sisters on Memorial Day—a day that reminded her of her father that will now remind us of her.
Visitation is at 12 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1.p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. Rev. Jack Hinton will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Wesley Hancock, Benjamin Hancock, Zachary Hancock, Elijah Hancock, Preston Netherly and Jonathan Burke.
