James Monroe “Jimmy” Hale, Jr., age 61, of Hwy 504, Olive Hill, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 24, 1960, in Morehead, he was a son of the late Edith Nona Adkins and James Hale. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Louise Sargent, Winona Easterling, and Arthur Adkins.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Rhonda Annette Reynolds Hale; one daughter, Tabitha Akers and Wes of Lexington; one son, Brandyn Hale and Ashley of Morehead; and two grandsons, Jameson Tripp Akers and Landon Carl Hale.
Others to cherish his memory include five siblings, Mary Mullen (Jerry) of Salt Lick, Charles Hale, Candy Marcum (Ronnie Caudill) of Morehead, Dave Hale of Lisbon, Ohio, Margaret Roff (KC) of Mesa, Arizona; sister-in-law, Nyoka Adkins of Dunlow, West Virginia, extended family and friends.
Jimmy was an employee of Rowan County Fiscal Court for 14 years; during that time he served 9 years as the Dog Warden. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and socializing with family and friends. He never met a stranger, had a big heart, and helped anyone in need. He loved all his family and they loved him. One of his favorite pastimes was making “Papaw memories” with his grandsons. Jimmy was a baptized Christian and attended Fraley Chapel Church of Jesus Christ. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Bradley and Brother John Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Nickell-Harris Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rex Stamper, Claude Shannon Jervis, Bart Wallace, Cliff Gilliam, Dennis Roe, and Glendon Ray Lowe.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
