James Raymon Binion, age 81, of Caudill Cemetery Road, Morehead, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, following an extended illness.
Born July 20, 1943, in Ashland, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Roy Ernest Binion and Ina Clo Kegley Binion Arnold. Jim lived a full and devoted life, and he will be remembered by his family and friends for his kind spirit and his unwavering love for his family.
Jim was married to his beloved wife, Patricia Cassity Binion, for over 60 years. They were united in marriage on August 27, 1964. Together, they raised two sons, James Douglas “Doug” Binion of Morehead and Brian Matthew Binion (Amy) of New Richmond, Ohio. Jim’s love for his family extended to his three grandchildren, Corey Binion of Morehead, Ethan Binion of New Richmond, Ohio, and Aidan Binion of Boston, Massachusetts, all whom were a great source of joy to him.
In addition to his immediate family, Jim is survived by his sister, Sheryl Wilson (Charles) of Bradenton, Florida; his brother-in-law, Larry Cassity (Teresa); and three nephews, Jon Wilson, Todd Wilson, and Scott Cassity. He is also survived by two aunts, Donna Arnold (Gary) and Kay Callahan, as well as his uncle, David Kegley.
Jim retired from Rowan County Board of Education Transportation Department as compliance coordinator. He was a former employee of Pack’s Inc. as an estimator.
Jim’s quiet strength and gentle nature left an impact on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A private family graveside inurnment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 2835 Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, KY 40351.
