James Everett Thomas, age 71, of Veterans Lane, Morehead, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020, at his home.
Born May 30, 1949, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Silas Glenmore Thomas and Dorrah Alta Withrow Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda L. Thomas and Patricia Thomas, and one brother, Glen M. Thomas, Jr.
James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamelia D. Baker Thomas; two sons, Everett Michael (Jill) Thomas of Georgetown, Indiana, and James William (Dana) Thomas of Lexington; one daughter, Dorrah Catherine Thomas of Morehead; four grandchildren, Reece Ausmus, Janie Ausmus, Silas James Drexel Thomas, and Glenda Amelia Thomas; and two sisters, Helen (Rexford) Johnson of Winchester and LeeAnna O. Thomas Davis of Morehead.
James served in the U. S. Army and was a retired industrial engineer with Sealmaster. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and Rank I certification from Morehead State University. He loved living on the farm and spending time with family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Jesse Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton-Thomas Cemetery on Christy Creek.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
