James A. O’Keefe, age 61, a resident of Morehead for the past 20 years, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, at his residence.
A native of New York, Jim is survived by one brother and one sister, both of New York. He also leaves behind a beloved goddaughter, Sheena Thompson, and a “grandson,” Gunner Thompson, both of Salt Lick. Other survivors include his many dear friends throughout the area.
Jim was a U.S. Army veteran, an active member of Farmers Phelps Lodge No. 482, El Hasa Shriners in Ashland, Morehead Shrine Club, and Morehead American Legion Post 126. He volunteered most of his time for the betterment of others.
A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with John “Skip” Holley presiding. A masonic service will be conducted by Phelps Lodge 482 and military honors will be presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
