Jackie Lee Perry, age 84, of Rice Loop Road, Morehead, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 20, 2021, at his residence. He was born June 14, 1937, in Morgan County.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Helen Jean Phillips; his wife, Sally Perry; his parents; George Perry and Mamie Collins Perry Callahan; four brothers, Garland Perry, Ed, Francis, and Brent Callahan; one sister, Geraldine Brown; as well as his beloved pet dog, “Sparky.”
Jack is survived by two sisters, Melissa Kilgore and Carma Cumins, both of West Liberty; stepdaughter, Pyna Stidham of Paintsville; five loving daughters, Tammy Criswell of Morehead, Regina (Johnny) Kitchen of Flat Gap, Melissa (Roger) Friend of Stanton, Robyn (Tim) McKinney of Flemingsburg, and Marsha (Jeff) Taylor of Morehead; nine grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Michael and Shawn Kitchen, Jessica Hunt, Dallas and TJ McKinney, Josh Warren, Angel Profitt, and Sarah Vaske; extended family and friends.
Jack was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and a lifelong carpenter. He was a well-known practical joker and loved U.K. basketball, Bluegrass music, gardening, reading. Jack was a Christian man and a member of Bluebank First Church of God. Above all, Jack loved his family dearly and enjoyed the time spent with them. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Grandson Dallas McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Perry Cemetery in Blairs Mill with full military honors conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Williams, Michael and Shawn Kitchen, Dallas and TJ McKinney, and Josh and Jack Warren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
