Hunter was an inspiration to many as he battled neuroblastoma cancer four times since age 2 ½ years. He was adored by everyone who met him and despite his illness enjoyed hunting, fishing, video games, riding his motorcycle, playing with friends, and hover boarding. One of his greatest joys was being named “Coach Hunter” by Vikings basketball Coach Thacker. “Coach Hunter” was passionate about the basketball teams and being the assistant coach and participating in team activities brought him much pleasure. On November 10, 2019, his four-point buck fulfilled one of his lifelong goals and brought tears to his eyes.
Hunter will forever be remembered and loved by those who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held 10 a.m. Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Rowan County Senior High School with Bro. Mike Rogers and Bro. Jared Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Mitchell Family Cemetery in Bomont, West Virginia, with Pastor Timmy Hobbs officiating.
