Howard Lee Fraley

Howard Lee Fraley, age 91, of Morehead, KY. passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his residence following a terminal illness.

He was born July 8,1934, at Elliottville, KY, in Rowan County to the late Granville Willis and Nancy Lillian Fraley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Lorene Nickles Fraley, whom he married on May 30,1957; one daughter, Melissa Fraley, six brothers, Clester Eugene Fraley, Carl Vernon Fraley, Edmund Fraley, Paul Fraley, Roy Fraley, Granville Fraley, and one sister, Dessie Parish.

Howard is survived by his son, H. Thomas (Leigh Ann) Fraley of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Katherine Leigh (Ben) Fisher of Omaha, NE, and Joshua Tate (Chelsea) Ross of Lexington, KY; two great-grandchildren, Audrey Leigh Fisher and Willa Blair Fisher of Omaha, NE.

Howard's family is especially grateful for his precious caregivers who enabled him to stay at home until his passing: Beverly Sanders, Cindy Kissick, Cheryl Wilson, Linda Miller and Linda Smith.

Howard attended Berea College and then graduated from Morehead State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He served two years in the U.S. Army in Europe following World War II. Following his military assignment, he began his long term career as an insurance agent with Commonwealth Life Insurance Company, currently Trans America, until he retired. Howard sacrificially served his Lord Jesus for nearly 70 years. He was faithfully committed to his wife and family, his church, and the many friends and relatives that he loved so much. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. H. Thomas Fraley officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Morehead.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Howard’s name.
