Harry Louis Sparks, 72, of Little Perry Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born March 9, 1949, in Morehead, he was the son of Virgil Sparks and Evelyn Gaythal Reeder Sparks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Aaron Sparks on April 18, 2008, and Chadwick Lee “Chad” Sparks on January 8, 2019; one sister, Annabelle Sparks; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Watson Sparks on July 6, 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Tina Kay Hatton Sparks, whom he married June 29, 1968; three sisters, Alvaretta Vesperman of Navasota, Texas, Amelia Lewis and Ella Sue Hatton (Butch), all of Morehead; three granddaughters, Tyra Jade Meadows (Ben) and Leanna Jordan Sparks (Chase Hamilton), all of Morehead, and Destini M’Shay Sparks of Florence; three great grandchildren, Gabrien, Isaiah, and Everleigh Meadows; several nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
Harry was a retired foreman for National Mines Service Company. He was a member of Haldeman Church of God and Soldier Masonic Lodge No. 708. Harry was an avid UK fan and enjoyed caring for his cattle, watching Westerns and UK basketball games, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel Brother Ron Clatos officiating. Burial will follow in Stevens Cemetery on US 60 East.
Pallbearers: Ben Meadows, Matthew Lewis, Nathan Lewis, Chase Hamilton, Jason Bays, Michael Hatton, and Shawn Hatton. Honorary pallbearers: Michael Jordan, Jack Carter, and Rick Hatton.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, with Masonic services conducted at 7:00 p.m. by Soldier Masonic Lodge No. 708 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
