Harlan Vernon “Buck” Stamper, Jr., age 73, of Salt Lick, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at his residence.
Born June 28, 1949, in Bath County, he was a son of the late Harlan Stamper, Sr. and Ruby Oldfield Stamper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Tommy Stamper, and two brothers-in-law, Gary W. Thomas and Tom Cox.
Buck is survived by his wife, Danica “Donna” Wescott Stamper, whom he married August 28, 1990; two daughters, Katelyn “Katy” Stamper of Morehead and Tara Taylor (Chad) of Port Orange, Florida; and two grandchildren, Kaley Jo Coleman (Austin) and Gage Taylor, all of Port Orange, Florida.
Also surviving are four sisters, Geri Cox of Franklin, Ohio, Patricia Gardner (Gary), Joy Prather (Perry), and Connie Thomas, all of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; and friends that he loved and they loved him.
Buck retired from The Big Store and enjoyed fishing and watching U.K. basketball, Cincinnati Reds, and NASCAR. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Toby Gardner, David Zimmerman, Jamie Stamper, Taylor Hyatt, Chad Taylor, and Gage Taylor.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
