Obituary

Gloria Jean Rigsby, age 91, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Morehead on April 5, 2023. 

She was born July 18, 1931, in Upper Glade, West Virginia, and was a daughter of the late Luther and Eva Williams.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Rigsby; her siblings, Deral, Ford, Lowell, Lyman, Ralph, Shirley, and Flora Dell; and a grandson, Philip Reynolds IV.

Jean was a four-year resident in Morehead with her daughter Kim, son-in-law, Aaron, and grandchildren, Hunter, Fergus, and Tristen and lived previously in Dundalk, Maryland for many years.  

Jean was an assistant chemist at Glidden Paints, and a quality inspector for Western Electric where she retired.

She is survived by her children, Michael Rigsby, Pamela Chernault, and Kimberlie Rigsby; grandchildren, Kristin Rigsby, Lisa Rigsby, Ryan Kiel, Joshua Chernault, George Poulos, Timothy Reynolds, Williams Reynolds, Glory Reynolds, Fergus Polis, and Hunter Czajkowski; great grandchildren, Camden Kiel, Bryce Kiel, Sawyer Kiel, and Kenley Pfannebecker; devoted brother, Jerry Williams; and numerous beautiful nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at near her hometown in Cowen, West Virginia.
