Glen Eldridge Obituary

 

Glen Dale Eldridge, age 72, of Peyton Ridge Road, West Liberty, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.


He was born May 22, 1950, in Carter County, a son of the late John Jay Eldridge and Grovie Fannin Eldridge. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two children, Brandon Eldridge and Heather Meade; four brothers, Rolla Lowell Eldridge, Burchelle "Bird" Eldridge, Charlie Junior Eldridge, and Tommy Eldridge, and one sister, Nola Ann Halsey.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Lynn Anderson Eldridge, whom he married on September 22, 2005; one son, Luke Fraley (Amy) of Covington; one daughter, Christa Eldridge of Cincinnati, Ohio; two step sons, Jeremy Oditt of Salt Lick and Eric Oditt (Lisa) of Miamisburg, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Also surviving are three brothers, Robert Eldridge of West Liberty, David Eldridge of Flemingsburg, and Ricky Eldridge (Terri) of Hillsboro; four sisters, Mary Halsey of Mt. Sterling, Myrtle Gillium of Hillsboro, Martha Jones-Stubbs (Harlan) of Flemingsburg, and Patty Ratliff of Morehead; his father-in-law, James “Jim” Anderson of Salt Lick; a host of nieces and nephews; and his dog, “Bailey Grace”.

 

Glen was a carpenter and a member of Carpenter Union Local No. 126. He retired from the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority.  He was a member of Jay B. Covert Masonic Lodge No. 437 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

Glen enjoyed attending Bluegrass festivals, listening to Bluegrass music, being outdoors, woodworking, camping, and attending family gatherings.  Glen will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with nephews Scott Halsey and Nathan Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Purvis Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers:  Bruce Gillium, Luke Fraley, David Eldridge, Jeremy Jones, Nathan Eldridge, Robert Eldridge, Rick Eldridge, and Dave Eldridge.   Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.

 

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY  40351.
