George Wilbur Harmon, Sr.

George Wilbur Harmon, Sr., age 65, of Kenna Lane, Clearfield, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at UK St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born June 30, 1959, in Camden, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Anna Carolyn McNelly Harmon of Clearfield and Charles Harmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Harmon, and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Sexton, Michael Sexton, and Elexis Bowling.

George is survived by is wife of 45 years Karen Sue Crawford Harmon; four daughters, Katherine (Ronnie Sexton) of Clearfield, Sabrina (Nathan) Bowling of Morehead, Opal (John) Marshall of Morehead, and Christina (Corey) Goodwin of Ewing; one son, George William Harmon, Jr. of Clearfield; 10 grandchildren, Destiny Sexton, Allie Sexton, Angelina Sexton, Autumn Bowling, Kaden Goodwin, Brianna Goodwin, Trinity Goodwin, Cody Marshall, Hunter Marshall, and Jewel Harmon; and four great grandchildren, Serenity Long, Harleigh Long, McKenzie Sexton, and Korbyn Sexton.

Other survivors include three sisters, Linda McDaniel and Carol Traylor, both of Morehead, and Elaine Harmon of Clearfield; one brother, Henry (Barb) Harmon of Clearfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He retired after 23 years of service as foreman for Swartz Mowing. He loved fishing, camping, and spending time with family, especially with his grandkids and great grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A gathering for family and friends will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.  A celebration of life will be held immediately following at 7 p.m. with Pastor Joe Riley officiating.
