Geneva Ruth (Burke) Ross

Geneva Ruth Burke Ross, age 72, of Alexandria, Kentucky, formerly of Johnson School Road, Hillsboro, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
 
Born May 29, 1952, in Fleming County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Newton Burke and Nancy Alice Maze Burke.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Thomas Ross, who passed December 26, 2017; a grandson, Cody Elliott; and two brothers, Lowell Wayne Burke and Dennie Lee Burke.

Geneva is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Taylor (Brent) of Alexandria, Kentucky; two step sons, David Ross and Myron Ross, all of Frenchburg; one step daughter, Joyce Wright of Stanton; one brother, Leonard Newton Burke (Marsha) of Ewing; four grandchildren, Dylan Ross (Meredith), Henry Ross, Jacob Ross, and Caleb Taylor; one great granddaughter, Sky Elliott; and several step grandchildren.

She retired from Nestle in Mt. Sterling and was a former employee of Cowden’s Manufacturing. Geneva enjoyed working puzzles and reading.  Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and remembered with love.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Lee Jent officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Ross, Christian Jent, Kyle Hamilton, Henry Ross, Brent Taylor, and Chuck Taylor.

Visitation is from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
