Gary Douglas Gardner, age 76, of Wellington, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at his home.
Born July 7, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert Owen Gardner and Pearl Taylor Gardner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Gardner, and one sister, Janet Hitzman.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Linda Irvin Gardner, whom he married April 14, 1973; one son, Douglas Gardner of Wellington; one brother, Robert “Bob” Gardner of Cincinnati, Ohio; and other extended family members and friends.
He proudly served two years in the U.S. Army. Gary was formerly employed as a driver and salesman for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and later worked as a maintenance employee for the Northwest School System in Cincinnati.
Gary had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, wood carving, and spending time outside whenever he could. He was also a motorcycle and car enthusiast who took great pride in owning a Corvette and a Harley-Davidson, and he loved riding whenever he was able.
Gary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
There will be no visitation or services held at this time.
