Florrey Alice Pugh Charles, age 82, of South Lick Road, Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Pioneer Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Flemingsburg.
Born May 14, 1940, in Fleming County, she was a daughter of the late George William Pugh and Onieda Frances Jefferson Pugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Edward Charles on March 5, 1991; three sisters, Nancy Thelma Jimison, Betty Imogene Pugh and Helen L. Black; four brothers, James Samuel Pugh and William Albert Pugh, Chan Arthur Pugh, and Denzil Elwood Pugh; and two grandsons, Ricky Edward Charles and Anthony Allen Wallace.
Florrey is survived by five daughters, Kimberly Kaye Tindle, of Grayson, Vincetta “Lynn” Charles, Pamela Frances Charles, Deborah Layne Mimbs, and Marla Joy Duncan, all of Fleming County; 11 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Other survivors include two sisters, Della Richmond and Patty Ann Doyle, both of Fleming County; a host of nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
She was a homemaker and a former employee of St. Clarie Regional Medical Center. Florrey enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, talking on the phone, and especially spending time with her family. She will be remembered with love and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Wooley Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
