Evelyn Kay (Obney) Hatcher

Evelyn Kay Obney Hatcher, age 80, of McCullough Court, Morehead, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at Ridgeway Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville.

Born March 14, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Lee Obney and Quena Faye Dempsie Nesbitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Hatcher; three sons, David Wayne Hatcher, Bryan Dale Hatcher, and Timothy Thomas Hatcher; an infant sister, Donna Obney, and step-father, Eugene Blake Nesbitt.

She is survived one son, William Hatcher (Kitty Cottrill); one daughter, Donna Cottrill, all of Morehead; one brother, Dave Nesbitt of Brunswick, Ohio, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a special cousin, Shirley Friend of Akron, Ohio; a dear friend, Alta Cottrill; as well as other extended family.  

She was a homemaker and a former employee at Empire Manufacturing Company in Akron, Ohio. Evelyn enjoyed Bingo, casinos, playing cards, and spending time with family. The family extends special thanks to Ridgeway Nursing Home, Morehead Dialysis Center, Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, and St. Claire Hospice, who provided loving care to Evelyn.

At her request, no services will be held.
