Ethel Irene Kelsey Barker, 81, of Debord Branch, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at her residence.
Born February 2, 1939, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Kelsey and Nola Mae Caudill Kelsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Fisher and Pauline Brown; three brothers, John Kelsey, James Kelsey, and Jackie Kelsey; and companion, Pal Barker.
Irene is survived by one daughter, Carol Johnson of Morehead; one brother, Ernie Kelsey of Vanceburg; three grandchildren, Ben Heckman, Kris Cox, and Sierra Boyd; two great grandchildren, Maelorie Harper and Brooklyn Boyd; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a homemaker and a former waitress. Ethel enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and watching westerns.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Butch Kelsey officiating. Burial will follow in Cranston Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
COVID-19 restrictions as set forth by the state will be observed.
