Edward "Eddie" Arnold Ison

Edward Arnold “Eddie” Ison, age 65, of Rock Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.

Born February 6, 1956, in Morehead, he is the son of the Rev. Cecil Ison and Donna Jean Foster Ison of Morehead.

Eddie is also survived by his wife, Carol Loper Ison; his son and daughters, Nicolette Elaine “Nikki” Brigner Ison and fiancé Justin Corlis, Zachary Edward “Zach” Brigner Ison and fiancée Hannah Brown, and Samantha Catherine “Sam” Brigner Ison, all of Morehead; his step children, Dale Sowards and David Sowards, both of West Liberty, and Heather Buckner of Harrodsburg; and 11 grandchildren, Kaylea, Channing, Harbor, Beckham, Hadleigh, Finnley, Lexie, Max, Enoch, Camryn, and Shiah.

Other survivors include one brother, Glenn (Anita) Ison; one sister, Sandra Plank; sister-in-law, Barbara Ison, all of Morehead; special niece and nephew, Caleb Ison and Cortlin Ison; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joy Brigner Ison on January 7, 2011, and one brother, Michael Sylvan Ison on December 25, 2016.

He was a life-long truck driver and was the owner and operator of Ison Trucking Company. He enjoyed watching his favorite television show Gun Smoke and spending time with family and friends. Eddie lovingly embraced his duties of “Papaw” to all of his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and remembered with love.    

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Clearfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Caleb Ison, Doc Caudill, Greg Brigner, Jeff Kissick, Larry Rollins, and Bobby Lawson.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
