Edsell A. Weaver, Sr., age 80, of Crain Creek, Wallingford, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
Edsell was born April 3, 1943, to the late Earl F. Weaver and Rebecca Frances Skaggs Weaver of Crain Creek. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Earl Weaver, Jr., Noah Ronald Weaver, David Eugene “Gene” Weaver, Estill Carl Weaver, James Arnold Weaver, and Willam Ray “Bill” Weaver.
In 1969, he met and married the love of his life, Kathy Conley Weaver. Edsell worked for the State Highway Department, logging for his brothers, and at his brother’s sawmill, which he retired from. After retiring, he spent his time with his family and fishing. He loved playing dominoes and Rook. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love.
Edsell and Kathy were married 53 years and, in those years, they had three children, Edsell (Barbara), Kellie (John), and Dewayne (Becky); seven grandchildren, Conner (Hilary), Montana, Marianna, Coleson, Madison, Ethan, and Elizabeth; and five great grandchildren, Brayden, Colton, Aerian, Addison, and Kevin.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Bob Weaver and Earnie Weaver; one sister, Virginia Mann; a host of nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Scott Cummins and Brother David Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery at Weaver Hollow in Fleming County.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Weaver, Wes Hilterbrand, Ward Hilterbrand, Bobby Weaver, Ralph Cox and Conner Weaver.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
