Edith (Lykins) McGuire

Edith Lykins McGuire, age 85, of Blue Hall Road, Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 17, 1939, in Salyersville, and was a daughter of the late Billy Lykins and Rachel Jane Franklin Lykins.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Edith is survived by two sons, Jay Smallwood and Ben Smallwood, both of Goshen, Indiana; two daughters, Victoria Smallwood of Olive Hill and Genia Wagoner of Flemingsburg; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Other survivors include one brother Marcus Lykins of Lucasville, Ohio; a special friend and caregiver, Richard Stiener of Olive Hill; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Edith was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her family. Edith will be remembered with love and greatly missed.

There will be no visitation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
