Douglas Pennington Obituary

 

Douglas Allen “Dougie” Pennington, age 40, of Big Brushy Road, Morehead, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Rowan County.

 

Dougie was born November 14, 1979, in Morehead and is the son of Debbie Logan Pennington and Dwane Pennington, both of Morehead.

 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two children: his eight-year old son, Alex Zander Pennington, and six-year-old daughter, Emma Grace Pennington, both of Morehead; one sister, Debra Lee Pennington Biggs (Brent) of Morehead; two brothers, Nicky Pennington (Erica) of Morehead and Anthony Dwane Pennington (Tina) of Sharpsburg; three half-brothers, Andrew Dwane, Matthew Thomas, and Casey Ryan Pennington, all of Morehead; special cousin, Randy Pennington, Jr.; nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family and good friends. 

 

He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Maxine Pennington of Morehead.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lowell Pennington, Sr., and maternal grandparents, Glen and Elizabeth Easton Logan. 

 

Dougie graduated from Rowan County High School and Rowan County Vocational Technical School, where he majored in HVAC.  He was currently an employee of Alltech Professional Services and a former employee of G & W Construction Company.  Dougie was a hard worker and loved dirt track racing and NASCAR.  He also loved spending time with family and adored Alex and Emma and their special times together.  He will be greatly missed and remembered with love.   

 

Due to COVID-19 requirements set forth by Governor Andy Beshear, a private visitation for family will be held at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals on Monday, April 13, 2020, followed by a private graveside service at Pennington Cemetery with Rev. Myron “Bud” Logan officiating.
