Douglas Carl Hunt, age 65, of Traci Drive, Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at the V. A. Hospital in Lexington.
Born March 6, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Frank Hunt and Bessie Harris Hunt. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Eugene Hunt, and one sister, Barbara Ann Deaton.
Doug is survived by his wife, Wanda Kessler Hunt, whom he wed June 29, 1985, one son, David (Michelle) Hunt of Flemingsburg; one daughter, Jessica (Zach Childers) Hunt of Paintsville; and seven grandchildren, Davin Andrew Hunt, Rosalie Marie Hunt, Esmae Renea Hunt, Scarlett Lucille Hunt, Layla Marie Mason, Haylee Nichole Mason, and Skylar Ann Mason.
Other survivors include one brother, Frank “Buck” Hunt of LaGrange; two sisters, Carol Bryant of Tennessee and Teresa (Tony) Brookes of Celina, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family.
Doug proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a lance missile crewman and was a long-time supervisor at Creative Extruded Products Company in Tipp City, Ohio. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a huge Dale Earnhart, Sr. fan. He also enjoyed watching U.K. basketball and western TV shows, and especially enjoyed the Lonesome Dove series.
A celebration of life with Doug’s loving family presiding will be held at 12 noon Thursday, May 19, 2022. Following the service, full military honors will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post 126.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 noon Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
