Dorothy Jane "Janie" (Wallace) Oliver

Dorothy Jane “Janie” Wallace Oliver, age 54, of W. Main Street, Owingsville, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at UK Bluegrass Hospice Care in Lexington.

She was born August 10, 1968, in Campton, a daughter of Rita Cheryl Abner Wallace of Morehead and the late William Moses Wallace. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by two infant children and her grandmother, Dorothy Mayse.

In addition to her mother, Janie is survived by her companion of 28 years, Carl Oliver; one son, Jarrad Michael Brown and wife Maryah of Morehead; three daughters:  Samantha Parkhurst and husband Brett of Jeffersonville, Carlee Jade Oliver and Amelia Rose Oliver, both of Owingsville; two stepdaughters, Andrea Wescott and husband Rob and Kristen Saylor, all of Berea; and eight grandchildren:  Kolton, Layne, KayLynn, Paisley, Chloe, Stevie, Gabe, Bella and expecting one grandson Carter in April.

Other survivors to cherish Janie’s memory include one brother, William Scott Wallace of Morehead; one sister, Jennifer Pham of Burlington; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

She was a former employee of Rumpke in Mt. Sterling and enjoyed fishing, camping, working with all kinds of crafts.  Most of all, Janie loved her family, taking care of them, and spending time with them.  She will be sadly missed and forever remembered with love. 

A celebration of Janie’s life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with family and friends presiding.  Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samantha Parkhurst for “Janie’s grandson Kolton” who is battling health issues.
