Donna Kay Burchett Collier, age 77, of Highland Drive, Mt. Sterling, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at her residence.
Born September 28, 1944, in Olive Hill, she was the daughter of the late Dennie R. and Edna Johnson Burchett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, who raised her, Dennie and Ollie Burchett.
Her husband of 44 years, Roy N. Collier, whom she married January 13, 1962, preceded her in death on December 13, 2006; in addition to a son, Keith Collier; a special aunt, Norbeth Coleman; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Braden; and a sister-in-law, Geneva Martin.
She is survived by two sons, Steve (Lisa) Collier of Mt. Sterling, and Chris (Cyndi) Collier of Winchester; seven grandchildren, Joshua Collier, Eric (Lian) Collier, all of Lexington, Emily (Mitch) Winzer of Nicholasville, Alex (Neal) Collier of Dallas, Texas, Hannah (Taborn) Kissick of Owingsville, Cameron (Lexy) Collier of Mt. Sterling, and Zach Collier of Winchester; and one great grandchild, Rory Winzer of Nicholasville.
Other survivors include three siblings, Judy (Charlie) Highfield of Ludlow, Kentucky, Debbie Perry of Margate, Florida, and Dennie R. Collier of Marietta, Ohio; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Theda Martin, Brenda Stanley, Thelma Tomblin, Linda Sammons, Raymond Collier, and Ricky Collier; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
She retired from the Montgomery County Gateway District Health Department and was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. Donna was a woman of faith and taught Bible studies at various churches and homes. She also led an internet study of reading the Bible for many years. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 925 Woodford Drive, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353 with Brother Chris Wells and Brother Tom Burbrink officiating. Burial will follow in Bentley Cemetery, 11 Bentley Cemetery Road, Load, KY.
Pallbearers: Eric Collier, Cameron Collier, Zachary Collier, Taborn Kissick, Mitch Winzer, and Neal Werthmann. Honorary pallbearers will be Bible Study members and many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
