Dianna Richmond Zornes, age 74, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.
Born October 3, 1945, in Lewis County, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Opal Spence Richmond. Dianna was raised by her grandmother, Anne Spence, following the death of Opal when Dianna was 12 days old. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jared Dale Thompson; one daughter, Berhilda Gail Thompson Logan; two brothers, Harold and Ray Richmond; four sisters, Lucille Richmond Cropper, Ruthie Richmond Gilliam, Velma Richmond Adams, and Roshella Faye Richmond Zornes.
Dianna is survived by one daughter, Lenora Thompson Crace (Robert), and two sons, Richard Allen Thompson (Sue) and Aaron Joe Plank, all of Morehead. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Derek Jackson, Rebecca Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Fonda Owens, Jaylynn Plank, Bentley Plank, Dakota Plank and Jonathan Stevens; seven great grandchildren; one half-sister, Sue Eddy of Minford, Ohio; one half-brother, Gary Richmond of Senora; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
Dianna cleaned homes and businesses in Morehead for over 40+ years and was known and loved by many, many people. Her happiest moments were visiting the sick at the nursing home, working in her flower gardens, going dancing with her best friends, Valarie Pennington and Ermine Hogge, and listening to Bluegrass music. She attended Holly Fork Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the Red Hatters.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Northcutt & Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Monroe Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Bald Point Cemetery in Lewis County.
Pallbearers are Richard Thompson, Jonathan Stevens, Derek Jackson, Robert Crace, Darrel Logan, Allen Logan, Steve Thompson, and Jeff Richmond. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Plank, Bentley Plank, and Ermine Hogge.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
