Diane Faye Wells Tackett, age 68, of Moores Flat Road, Morehead, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 28, 2021, surrounded by family at her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She kept the faith and finished the race.
Born May 19, 1953, in Morehead, she was a daughter of the late Paul M. and Clara “Faye” Adkins Wells. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Adams; two infant brothers, James and John Wells, and a stepdaughter, Teresa Tackett.
Diane is survived by her husband, Bob Tackett; three daughters, Shelley (Larry) Lykins, Sabrina Quesinberry (TJ May), and Tiffany (Jason) Smedley; two stepsons, Mike Tackett and Bobby Jr. (Amy) Tackett; three grandsons, Jacob Smith, Jace Walling, and James Earls; and one granddaughter, Kyndal Lykins.
She is also survived by three sisters, Paulette (David) Haney, Janie (Jerry) Estep and Linda (Bronson) Black; one brother, Doug Wells; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Diane was a wonderful homemaker and cook and especially loved baking treats for everyone to enjoy. She also loved sewing, picking green beans, canning, hunting mushrooms, fishing for Crappie and tending to her flowers and garden. Diane adored her grandbabies and was always proud of them. Whether the job was great or small, she wanted to be useful and help as much as she was able.
She was a member of the Salt Lick Freewill Baptist Church. Diane loved to serve the Lord anyway she could by singing, teaching Sunday school, mailing out cards, or going to visit nursing homes. She was a prayer warrior and had so much compassion and encouragement for others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A special thanks to Dr. Nancy Weigel and St. Claire Hospice for helping us every step of the way.
