Obituary
Dennis Edward “Eddie” DeHart, age 77, of US Hwy 60 East, Morehead, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his home after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Born July 20, 1945, in Elliott County, he was the son of the late Jesse Lee DeHart and Nellie Mae Trent DeHart. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Harlan DeHart, William Paul DeHart, Glennis Ray DeHart, and Delmas Wayne DeHart, and one sister, Edna Stevens.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Jamie Bowman DeHart, whom he married April 29, 1995; three sons, Craig DeHart, Jonathan Bowling (Kayla), and Cory DeHart (Chelsea), all of Morehead; and four grandchildren, Rylee Bowling, Jayla Bowling, Holly DeHart, and Lilly DeHart.
Other survivors include two brothers, Garrett DeHart, and Coy DeHart; one sister, Chelma Hall (Don), all of Morehead; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He was lifelong truck driver and was the owner of DeHart Trucking and Eddie’s Game Room in Hayes Crossing. Eddie can be described as a "hard working man" who sacrificed everything to provide for his family. He enjoyed farming, showing horses, squirrel hunting, and was an avid coon hunter. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and watching his granddaughters show their horses. Eddie will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gary Sparks, Brother Don Hall, and the Rev. Jack Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Mabry Cemetery, 100 Sand Gap Road, Morehead, KY 40351.
Pallbearers: Jeff Adams, Terry Middleton, Danny Middleton, David Davis, Clinton Rose, and Charlie Puckett. Honorary pallbearers: Denver Collins and Jeff Brown.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
